About routing using Windows there's a way to do it without ever installing a virtual machine of linux or installing a linux system, all through windows with native linux support. I used WSL (Windows Subsystem Linux) which allows windows users to install & run a native subsystem of linux (terminal only) inside windows and it works much more efficiently than Virtual Machines. I have managed to set Egress routing through WSL inside windows which previously I was not able to do with windows itself, I am leaving this info here in case someone could make use of it in the future.
